Attention current 10th and 11th graders!!!

Missouri State University is hosting the 3 week summer academy  2010 Missouri Innovation Academy.

NO COST  to the students who are selected. Scholarships will cover the $5,000 cost which includes housing, meals, field trips, equipment, and supplies for the academy.

Must be interested in technology, research, entrepreneurship, marketing, mathematics, sensors and computer programming.

You must live in Missouri, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or be in the upper half of your class.  Thirty students will be selected to attend this summer's academy.

Contact Mrs. Terry Rose as soon as possible if you are interested.  The application is lengthy and is due Feb. 1, 2010.

Interested in going to the 35th Summer Leaders Seminar hosted by the Westpoint United State Military Academy?   

Students should be current 11TH GRADERS who are in the top 5th of their high school class.  They must be pursuing a college preparatory curriculum, have strong PSAT scores, and have demonstrated leadership by participation, election/selection to office, and honors earned in organized athletic and extracurricular activities.


The cost is $350 excluding travel to and from the Academy.     If interested contact Mrs. Rose as soon as possible.  The application is due prior to April 1, 2010.  It is a rolling admission so applications must be filled out as soon as possible.


Powder Buff Announcement Correction

A few date changes from the previous announcement.  Powder Buff Volleyball will take place on Dec. 21st at 6:00.  The deadline for signing up and t-shirts will be Dec. 11th.  Everything else from the previous announcement is still correct.  Thanks!

Powder Buff Volleyball

FBLA is sponsoring the 1st annual Powder Buff Volleyball tournament.  The tournament will take place on December 14th at 6 pm.  Any male interested in playing needs to sign-up in front of room 100 by December 4th.  There will be only two teams for each grade level, so sign up quickly.  Any female interested in coaching needs to sign-up in front of room 100 by December 4th.  The cost is $10 which includes your t-shirt.  All others are invited to come watch, only $2 to get in.  See you there!!

The Webb CIty Singers are hosting the 23rd annual showchoir festival on Saturday, October 31. They need about 15 workers to help run the day. If any of you would be willing to help,  Mrs, Wright, Singers director would greatly appreciate it. The jobs include hospitality room, crowd control, hall duty, backstage control, and clean up. Please contact Mrs. Wright in the choir room if you are willing to volunteer.You  can earn 3 hours.

Starlume was honored with the Nashville's Toast of Music City award as Best Local Band . Their new album, "Lost in War," is now available on iTunes.   All ticket sales will go towards the school band's trip to the Tournament of Roses Parade.  To purchase tickets contact Diana Williams at 673-6010 ext.6,   Melinda Benham at 417-483-4834 or band students.  Ticket prices are $10.

members of the Fall Homecoming Court. One freshman, one sophomore,

The Homecoming Dance will be held on Friday, October 16 from 9:30 p.m.
until 11:00 p.m. Student Council President, Bekah Stout, will be the
DJ. Tickets are $3 each and may be purchased before school at the
stuco store and/or from any stuco member between classes. Students may
make one song request for every ticket purchased. We MUST sell 250
tickets prior to October 14 in order to have the dance. Please

Mrs. Rose is planning a trip to the University of Missouri/Kansas City 6  year Medical School on Wednesday, Oct. 21st.
Signup deadline is Oct.7th.

Sign up as soon as possible at Mrs. Rose's office (in the English Hall) The trip may fill up.

FCA News

Fellowship of Christian Athletes meets every Thursday at 7 am in the
girls' gym.

FCA is sponsoring See You At The Pole Wednesday, Sept. 23. Meet at 7
am in front of the school by the flag pole.

FCA is sponsoring a 5th quarter party after the Sept. 25th home game
against Nixa. Come to the next FCA meeting for more information or
see Coach or Mrs. Smith.

Students interested in joining FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community,

Room 103 to pay $5.00 dues and sign-up to go to Regional Meeting at
MSSU on Oct.13. Dues are due by Oct. 9 if planning to attend Regional
