Thank you letter

Please put the following letter on the announcements.  Some of my students bought me a stool for my classroom, but they don't want me to know who they are.

Dec. 12, 2008

Dear Santa,

Thank you very much for my new stool in my classroom.  I love it!!!!!  It is EXACTLY what I wanted.  The back is great and the seat is very comfortable.  Thank you for thinking of me.  I was so touched that I cried!  (For real!!!)

Say ¡Hola! to Mrs. Claus and all of the reindeer and elves for me.

Once again thank you so much for the stool.

Love,

Sra. Daugherty

PS:  Santa, you have beautiful handwriting!

News Class - Not an Announcement

Sorry guys - we will not be able to go to this

Take some time today to work on an upcoming contest...

Yesterday at my technology conference (I am there today also) I heard
about a T-Shirt Design Contest at University of Arkansas. The contest
is Dec. 10 but we will need to have our designs in during the next few
days if we want to compete.

Here's the details:

2008 Razorback Technology Challenge (RTC) - Wed, Dec. 10

Graphic Design Challenge

RTC T-Shirt Design

Must include an ORIGINAL Logo Design and say "Razorback Technology
Challenge"

Cannot use The "Hog" Logo or the "Ole' Main Logo"

Art Work must be ORIGINAL

- All students will compete in the problem solving challenge -

Tips from Mr. White...

We will present designs on 8.5 x 11 sheets so set up your Photoshop
files for U.S Paper at 180 ppi & CMYK

Keep your colors to a minimum - as these will eventually be printed on
t-shirts. 2 - 4 colors suggested. Remember - original graphics - so
don't just snag photos from the internet. Feel free to use Illustrator
as well - you could possibly trace online photos in making your logo...

This will be a lot of fun if several of us do it. Feel free to work on
this instead of announcements / sports videos today and next class -
If you would be interested in competing that is : )

Have fun!

- Mr. White

*DONE* Record Breaking Swimmers

4 TEAM RECORDS WERE SET THIS WEEKEND:

Matt Roughton took down Bryan Muench's 200 IM record from '03 by 4 seconds with his 2:01.55. (even better... he did it with Bronchitis.)

Jon Sanders took down Matt Roughton's record in the 100 breast with 1:04.42. I have never had two swimmers break a team record in the same event in one year before. The old record was Neal Sellers from 2001.

Eli Swaim took down Mark Sabado's 11-dive record from 1987 with his score of 414.35.

Our 200 Medley Relay also broke the team record TWICE. Once was with Ryan Tourigny on the backstroke and then again with Matt Roughton. The rest of the team were Jon Sanders, Stevie Dugdale and Sam Burnside. The old record belonged to my 2003 group of Muench, Brandon Smith, Jared Jeffries and Jared Hall. We are going after the other two relay records at the state meet this weekend.

wish us luck at state!
