Special Olympic Volunteers

Special Olympic Volunteers,

 

There will be a meeting on Friday, April 10, 2009 at 7:15am in Cardinal Theater for participants that plan to volunteer for the Special Olympics Track & Field event.

The event will take place on Friday, April 17, 2009. This is an all day event! You will need to contact your teachers and make arrangements for assignments.

***IF YOU DO NOT ATTEND THE MEETING ON 4/10/09, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS TRACK & FIELD EVENT ON 4/17/09!!!!!!!*******

Project Grad.

Special Forces Presentation (Seniors only)

SENIORS that are interested in hearing a presentation from a Special
Forces Air Rescue need to sign up in the counselor's office. It will
be a 30 minute presentation on Tuesday April 7 from 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm.
The presenter has been in the Air Force for 18 years in the special
forces. He is also an EMT and Paramedic.
SENIORS may sign up in the counselor's office if they would like to be
at the presentation.

*DONE*Prom Announcement

Some very important information about prom:

1. Begin signing up dates who have graduated or attend other schools
on Thursday, March 12. Your date MUST be enrolled in school or have
graduated from high school. All dates will be confirmed for
enrollment/graduation status before tickets can be purchased! Sign-up
sheets will be posted on the wall outside Room 600.

2. Tickets for prom will go on sale April 1 in Room 600. Tickets must
be purchased after 2:35 p.m. Tickets prices are listed below:
Juniors who did NOT work a concession = $30 for junior & $30 for date
Juniors who worked concessions = $10 or free, depending on type &
number of concessions worked; dates will be $10
Seniors = $10 each

3. Prom picture information will be available about a week or two
before prom. Be watching announcements for more information on where
to pick it up.

4. Prom will be at a different location this year, due to construction
on the MSSU campus. Prom will be at the Holiday Inn Convention Center
(formerly John Q. Hammons) on Saturday, April 18, from 8-11 p.m.
Senior walk will begin promptly at 8 p.m. Be watching announcements
for more details on it soon.

TUTORING OPPORTUNITIES:

 

·      Eugene Fields Elementary:  Needs a tutor to help a 3rd grade boy in reading and writing.  This would be after school from 3-4:00 p.m.

·      High School Physics:  We need a student to tutor a 9th grade student for tutoring a couple of days in study hall and after school.   

·      Webster Elementary:  Needs a student who does well in Reading/Math and mentoring a second grade girl.  This would be 1-2 days a week from 3:00-4:00 p.m.

·      Webster Elementary After-School Reading:   It is Mon. - Thurs. 2:50 - 3:30.    They need students who can commit to at least one day

a week.

·      Middle School Family Reading Night: on Monday March 9th.  From 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

There will be a meeting for all students interested in playing soccer
next year in Room 505 at 2:45 on Wednesday March 4th

There will be an informational meeting about Redette try-outs on
Tuesday March 10 at 6:00 pm in Barton Theatre. The meeting is for
dancers and their parents. Try-out packets will be handed out at the
meeting. If you can't attend, please see Ms. Brandenburg AFTER the
meeting.


If possible, could you run this on Thursday and Friday of this week
(3/5, 3/6) and Monday and Tuesday next week (3/9, 3/10)?
